Terms of Service

Last Updated: December 1, 2025

Plain English: ClipGo is free software. Use it however you want. We're not liable if something breaks. Don't use it for illegal stuff. That's basically it.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing and using ClipGo ("the Extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use ClipGo.

2. Description of Service

ClipGo is a free, privacy-focused Chrome extension that allows you to:

  • Highlight and save text snippets from web pages
  • Organize clips using a calendar view
  • Search and manage your saved content
  • Export your data at any time

All data is stored locally on your device. ClipGo does not provide cloud storage or sync services.

3. Free to Use

ClipGo is provided completely free of charge. There are no:

  • Subscription fees
  • Premium tiers
  • In-app purchases
  • Advertisements

We may introduce optional paid features in the future, but the core functionality will always remain free.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use ClipGo only for lawful purposes
  • Not use the Extension to save or distribute copyrighted content without permission
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute the Extension
  • Respect the terms of service of websites you clip content from

5. Data Ownership & Backup

You own your data. All clips you save belong to you.

However, because ClipGo uses local storage:

  • Your data is not backed up by us (we don't have access to it)
  • If you uninstall the Extension or clear browser data, your clips will be deleted
  • We recommend using the "Export Data" feature regularly to create backups

We are not responsible for data loss. Please back up important clips.

6. No Warranty

ClipGo is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Accuracy or reliability
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

We strive to make ClipGo reliable, but we can't guarantee it will work perfectly 100% of the time.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClipGo and its developers shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of data or content
  • Loss of profits or business opportunities
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Your use of ClipGo is at your own risk.

8. Intellectual Property

ClipGo's code, design, and branding are owned by the developers. However:

  • The source code is available on GitHub for transparency
  • You may not redistribute ClipGo under a different name
  • You may not use ClipGo's branding for derivative works

9. Third-Party Content

ClipGo allows you to save content from third-party websites. We are not responsible for:

  • The accuracy or legality of content you save
  • Copyright violations related to saved content
  • Any issues arising from the websites you clip from

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to save and use any content you clip.

10. Updates & Changes

We may update ClipGo at any time to:

  • Fix bugs
  • Add new features
  • Improve performance

Updates are automatic through the Chrome Web Store. We'll notify users of major changes through the extension.

11. Termination

You can stop using ClipGo at any time by uninstalling the Extension. We reserve the right to discontinue ClipGo at any time, though we'll provide advance notice if possible.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll notify users through the Extension. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with U.S. law.
